So, now that you have your video production complete you need some place where you can stream your online video. If you do not expect many views and your website supports online video you can probably just host your online video yourself. Check with your IT team or your web host.
Many companies want to outsource their online video needs to video sharing companies that can host their videos. Online video sharing sites provide the infrastructure needed for a high volume of video plays and they provide specialized video tracking and customized video player options. Below is an incomplete list of video sharing sites current as of May 7, 2010.

Wistia describes themselves as a “provider of business video sharing, management and collaboration tools for sales, marketing, and training applications.” At this time, their video sharing services seem to start at $39 per month. Wistia offers a free trial. Wistia Video Heatmaps “allow you to see second-by-second what each individual viewer watches.” Wistia also can alert you when a video has been viewed. Metacafe – ”Online Video Entertainment”
“Register as a Metacafe member to submit and rate videos, add comments and join discussions.” Free service supported by advertising.
Google Apps for Business – “Google-hosted video solution saves you time and money”
“Google securely hosts and streams your videos, so employees don’t need to share videos over email, or burden IT with a complex on-site video solution.” A video channel for your business, Keep videos secure and private. Included in Google Apps Premier Edition – Pricing is $50 per user, per year.
Vimeo – “Video Sharing For You”
“Vimeo is a respectful community of creative people who are passionate about sharing the videos they make.” ”best video quality and most versatile player on the web.” Free basic video sharing account. Vimeo Plus video sharing account $59.95. Currently, Vimeo only offers their video sharing site services for personal use and for filmmakers and video production comments. Currently, businesses are not supposed to use Vimeo for commercial use but some video production companies are using the video sharing to show their customers’ videos. Check back often because we will be shocked if their is not a commercial video hosting offering soon from Vimeo.
VMIX – “The Leading Online Video Platform & Online Video Publishing”

Delivers video to iPhone and other devices. ” VMIX provides software as a service (SaaS) online video platform solutions for media, entertainment, organizations, and business websites” VMIX seems to be a video sharing site for media companies that also supports enterprise. Pricing not obvious on their website.
Vzaar -” Video Hosting for your website”
Vzaar’s video sharing site’s features include “multi size players, unbranded players, high definition video, iPhone compatibility, privacy control, thumbnail picker, video watermarking, video embed code, Google analytics support, third party player support, vzaar advance rest API” 30 day free trial. Pricing starting at $15 per month. “Upgrade, downgrade or cancel anytime!”
Brightcove Online Video Platform
Brightcove describes themselves as “the leading platform for professional web sites.” At this time, their video hosting services seem to start at $99 per month. A free trial is available. Video hosting services include “video management and playlists, 12 Built-in Player Templates, Visual Player Styling, Social Sharing Tools, Multi-Bitrate Streaming, Detailed Analytics” Please check their website for their video hosting service latest offerings.
PlayStream – On-demand Video Streaming Site
This video sharing site offers a Select Series which is “great for small to medium sized businesses and professional” starting at a price of $10 monthly and an Enterprise Series starting at $67 monthly. Free evaluation offered. Company provide “audio and video streaming services” and live webcasting.
