Does your corporate website have video on it? If your website does not have a marketing video today it probably will soon. The demand for video on corporate websites seems to be growing exponentially. To meet the demand for more video there are video production companies like Rewatchable but also new video hosting/ video sharing companies seem to be popping up all the time.
These emerging video hosting companies are the anti-YouTube for corporate clients that want more control and better metrics. Our corporate video clients seem to come in two flavors a) they want to be on YouTube b) they would rather close up shop than to end up on YouTube.
Below is a list of some video sharing companies based in the Boston area alone. Of course, video hosting doesn’t need to be local but if you can give your business to a Boston based video company, why not?
Brightcove Online Video Platform
Brightcove is based in Cambridge, MA and was founded by Jeremy Allaire in 2004. Brightcove describes themselves as “the leading platform for professional web sites.” At this time, their video hosting services seem to start at $99 per month. A free trial is available. Video hosting services include “video management and playlists, 12 Built-in Player Templates, Visual Player Styling, Social Sharing Tools, Multi-Bitrate Streaming, Detailed Analytics” Please check their website for their latest offerings. Wistia – Video Sharing Service
Wistia is based in Lexington, MA. Wistia describes themselves as a “provider of business video sharing, management and collaboration tools for sales, marketing, and training applications.” At this time, their video sharing services seem to start at $39 per month. Wistia offers a free trial. Wistia Video Heatmaps “allow you to see second-by-second what each individual viewer watches.” Wistia also can alert you when a video has been viewed. iPlayerHD – Video Hosting in High Definition
iPlayerHD is based in Newfields, New Hampshire. Not really a Boston company but only about 60 miles away from Boston, MA. iPlayerHD describes themselves as a “powerful, affordable, and easy-to-use tool that delivers a stunning web video experience.” iPlayerHD currently provides a basic package for $30 monthly. Flimp - Video Sales & Marketing Software
Flimp is based in Hopkinton, MA right at the start of the Boston Marathon about 26.2 miles from downtown Boston and was founded in 2006. Flimp describes themselves as a “direct response video marketing, communication and sales software with viewer tracking and reporting that requires no programming or IT resources.” Currently pricing does not seem to be available on their website and we do not see a free trial.
